Edwin Reeves Euler (1896-1982)

He was born in DeLamar, Nevada in 1896 and pursued his art studies at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and then later at the National Academy of Design in New York. While studying at the Corcoran, Euler became a member of the Washington Art Club and the Washington Landscape Club.  Euler met his future wife, Frances, during his time in Washington.

In 1919 Euler and his wife moved to Provincetown, Massachusetts.  Euler studied with Charles Webster Hawthorne at the Day's Lumberyard Studios on Pearl Street in Provincetown, MA. Euler maintained an art studio at Day's Lumberyard, at roughly the same time as many other well-known artists including Robert Motherwell, Peter Busa, Helen Frankenthaler, Robert Douglas Hunter, Edwin Dickinson, and Vaclav Vytlacil.  Euler later moved his studio to a three-story building on Brewster Street, now a residence for art students studying at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.<   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1752 characters.]  Artist bio
